Public Consultation on the future of transport in and around Cambridge

The Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) is consulting on its plans to improve travel in Greater Cambridge.  This includes the now widely publicised ‘congestion charge’ proposals, but there is much more to it than that.  Please make time to read the consultation brochure and respond with a considered view – the survey is open until 23 December.

Better Ways for Busways (BW4B), which campaigns against the GCP proposed busway from Babraham to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus through the 2G3S area, now has a website.

Report on the Whittlesford Repair Cafe 25th April 2026

This event was organised in conjunction with Eco Whittlesford who provided the team of general helpers and, crucially, the supplies of tea, coffee and cake which fuel the repairers as well as being enjoyed by the “repairees”. Many thanks to the Eco Whittlesford team and to the Whittlesford United Reformed Church for use of their venue.

This was probably our busiest ever repair cafe in Whittlesford, and a wide range of items brought in for repair from standard lamps to shirts and from bracelets to bicycles. You can see the stats on the repairs carried out at this event on the Restarters Fixometer here.

Our next repair cafe is scheduled for 19th September and will be in Great Shelford. In the meantime there are lots more repair cafes happening in the area – you can find a full list on the Cambridge Carbon Footprint website.
