SUMMARY:Film Screening - Six Inches of Soil
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nSix Inches of Soil is film made in the UK by a production team based in Cambridge\, and first released in 2024.  It features the inspiring story of British farmers standing up against the industrial food system and transforming the way they produce food – to heal the soil\, benefit our health and provide for local communities. \nThe screening will commence at 7pm.   The run time of the film is 96 minutes. \nYou can find out more about the film on the Six Inches of Soil website. \nThis screening is part of the Stapleford Weekend 2026 \nThere will be an opportunity for discussion afterward the screening\, and a pizza van will be at the event so you can grab something to eat before the film starts.  Liquid refreshments will also be on sale. \nTickets will be on sale via the Stapleford Weekend website.

DESCRIPTION:Bring along your broken item and a skilled volunteer will help you fix it!  We can tackle a wide variety of repairs including jewellery\, electrical and electronic devices\, as well as clothes and fabrics. \nPlease do book in your item for repair – this helps us plan our schedule so we can avoid people having to wait\, and also means we can do our homework in advance to assess the repair. \nBookings have now closed but we have some capacity to accept unbooked fabric/clothing and jewellery repairs.    We are very heavily booked for electrical and general repairs. \nHere is the link to the booking form:    https://bit.ly/m/2G3S-RepairCafes \nPlease note that we will not be able to replace cracked screens on phones or tablets. SUMMARY:Peoples Emergency Briefing
DESCRIPTION:Fronted by Chris Packham and Deborah Meaden\, the People’s Emergency Briefing is a film showing segments of the National Emergency Briefing (NEB) held in Westminster on Nov 27th last year.    This is one of several screenings organised in South Cambridgeshire.  We urge everyone\, and especially our local councillors and politicians\, to come to one of the free screenings and discussions. \nIn the NEB\, nine international experts addressed 1\,200 politicians and other leaders on the scale of the current climate emergency and its impacts on health\, food\, national security and the economy. \nAlong with other screenings\, this is an opportunity for a public discussion on the challenges we anticipate and how we might influence our MPs and take action\, in particular local action\, together. \nThe film is 50 minutes long\, and the event will include refreshments and a facilitated discussion immediately following the screening. \nPlease note – There is no expectation that you ‘sign up’ to a particular group as a result of attending the screening.
