SUMMARY:Repair Cafe in Whittlesford
DESCRIPTION:Bring along your broken item and a skilled volunteer will help you fix it!  We can tackle a wide variety of repairs including clothes and fabrics as well as electrical and electronic devices. \nPlease do book in your item for repair – this helps us plan our schedule so we can avoid people having to wait\, and also means we can do our homework in advance to assess the repair. \nBookings will be accepted up until the Tuesday before the event (6th May) or until we reach full capacity.  Here is a link to the booking form: \nhttps://bit.ly/41M7Hjl \nWe will send out confirmations in the week before the event.   Please note that we will not be able to replace cracked screens on phones or tablets. The repairers are brilliant and can fix a lot of things but there are no guarantees. \nPlease bear in mind that we are always busiest when the cafe opens at 2pm – best to aim to arrive on time for your booked slot if you have one\, or anytime between 2:15 and 4:15 if you don’t have a booking. \nYou can read more about what happens at a repair cafe in our blog post. \nWe will collect portable non-working (unfixable) electrical items and ensure these are properly disposed of. \n

DESCRIPTION:Marven Centre\, Sawston Village College.   7pm Thursday 15th May 2025 \nTickets on sale here: https://kinema.com/events/Six-Inches-of-Soil-mvocni \n \nSix Inches of Soil is film made in the UK by a production team based in Cambridge\, and first released in 2024. \nIt features the inspiring story of British farmers standing up against the industrial food system and transforming the way they produce food – to heal the soil\, benefit our health and provide for local communities. \nWe are screening this film at the Marven Centre at Sawston Village College on Thursday 15th May.  The screening will commence at 7pm.   The run time of the film is 96 minutes. \nIn order to cover the costs of showing the film we will be charging £5* per ticket.    You can book tickets on line through Kinema.com . \nWe will keep this web page updated with more info about the event. \nYou can find out more about the film on the Six Inches of Soil website. \n*The online ticket price is $6.50 USD as Kinema.com only allows us to set prices in this currency.   This is equivalent to £5.03 at current exhange rates.
