SUMMARY:Sawston Repair Cafe
DESCRIPTION:St Marys Community Hall\, Sawston \nBring along your broken item and a skilled volunteer will help you fix it!  We can tackle a wide variety of repairs including electrical and electronic devices\, as well as clothes and fabrics\, and other items. \nPlease do book in your item for repair – this helps us plan our schedule so we can avoid people having to wait\, and also means we can do our homework in advance to assess the repair. \nBookings will open on 4th October and close on the Monday before the event (or earlier if we reach full capacity). \nHere is a link to the booking page: \nhttps://bit.ly/m/2G3S-RepairCafes \nPlease note that we will not be able to replace cracked screens on phones or tablets. The repairers are brilliant and can fix a lot of things but there are no guarantees. \nPlease bear in mind that we are always busiest when the cafe opens at 2pm – best to aim to arrive on time for your booked slot if you have one\, or anytime between 2:15 and 4:15 if you don’t have a booking. \nYou can read more about what happens at a repair cafe in our blog post. \nWe will collect portable non-working (unfixable) electrical items and ensure these are disposed of properly.

DESCRIPTION:It is very easy to get depressed about the state of the world. For 2G3S the threats to our natural environment have a particular resonance. But there IS a lot of good news; we just rarely hear about it. So we are holding a ‘Good News Evening’. Over some refreshments we’ll share information about positive developments for our communities\, for our climate and for biodiversity both locally and further afield. \nAll are welcome to join us; contributions to the good news and/or sweet and savoury nibbles are optional. Come along and and be inspired – you might leave with a spring in your step.
