2G3S Book Club – Ravenous
August 20 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm BST
The 2G3S Book Club meets every 3 months to discuss a book that has some relationship to green living and the natural world.
At this session we will be discussing “Ravenous” by Henry Dimbleby
The author has founded a reaturant and been an adviser to government, helping to formulate the National Food Strategy (which unfortunately has largely been left unadopted by the present government). The book is a very readable summary of a situation that is hard to digest: the fact that we are all damaged directly or indirectly by a food system that is responsible for an epidemic of obesity, contributes to the destruction of the natural world, and is a major contributor factor in the climate emergency. The book identifies what the auther believes government can and must do to address this crisis, but there is plenty of food for thought here for everyone.
